Your physician has referred you for treatment or diagnostic studies related to your condition. Before your scheduled appointment, please read over this information carefully. You will receive a pre-operative phone call a few days before your procedure. If you do not hear from us, please call us at (609) 296-1122 for pre-operative instructions. We’re looking forward to treating you.
Preparing for your Procedure
Please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled appointment. Doing so gives us time to verify your medical information and provide you with details concerning your procedure. It also gives you time to meet with the physician performing your procedure and ask him/her any questions you might have. In the event of a medical need, you may require admission to the hospital.
Before Your Procedure
- One of our clinical staff will call you to go over instructions and answer any questions you may have.
- Let us know if you have any allergies to food, medications and/or latex.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing and leave all valuables and jewelry at home.
- Bring with you a list of any medications or herbal supplements you’re taking and their dosages, and a list of your drug allergies.
- You must have a responsible adult to bring you in and take you home. If you don’t have a driver, your appointment will be cancelled. In some cases your driver may need to stay with you for several hours after your procedure. If using public transportation or a taxi, you must have a friend or family member accompany you.
- Do not take any Diuretics the day of your procedure. Follow your physician’s pre-operative orders for the medications you can take the day of your procedure and take them with a small sip of water.
- Call us at (609) 296-1122 and ask to speak with one of our nurses if you:
- Have diabetes
- Are being treated with blood thinners (Plavix, Coumadin or Heparin)
- Have an active infection
- May be pregnant
- Have questions of any kind
After Your Procedure
- If you received sedation for your procedure, you will need to bring a responsible adult with you. You should also rest the remainder of the day. Although you may feel normal, your reflexes and mental ability may be impaired.
- Do not consume alcohol, drive, operate machinery or make important personal or business decisions for 24 hours. The effects of sedation or anesthesia can last for more than 24 hours.
- Follow your physician’s post-operative orders as directed.
- Drink plenty of fluids and progress to your normal diet as tolerated unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
- You may resume your regular medication schedule unless otherwise instructed by your physician.
- Call us if you experience any of the following:
- Fever over 101 degrees
- Excessive pain or swelling
- Excessive drainage or bleeding
- Continued nausea or vomiting
- An unexpected reaction to medication
Insurance and Billing
- Please bring your insurance card(s), any related forms you might have and a personal identification card.
- If you are a Medicare patient, make sure you bring your Medicare card with you.
- If you are represented by an attorney, please bring his or her name, address and phone number.
- Once your insurance has been verified, you will be required to pay your co-pay on or before the day of your appointment.
- If you are a self-pay patient, we require that you pay for your service on or before the date of your appointment. Cash patients will be required to pay for their services on or before their admission date unless other arrangements have been made. We accept MasterCard, Visa and Discover.
- We will bill your insurance on your behalf; however, anything not covered by your insurance will be your responsibility to pay. If you have questions about financial arrangements, please call us at (609) 296-1122.
